FAQ

Most common questions that are asked about an exam or services are answered below for your convenience. If there is a question not listed, please contact us at 405-691-0505 and we will be glad to help answer it.

How long does an eye exam take?

Depending on the type of exam, and if this is your first visit,  it can take as little as 30 minutes or as long as an hour. Taking care of your vision needs is our priority regardless of how long it may take.

Will my eye(s) have to be dilated?

In order for Dr. Scott to clearly see the retina, dilation of the eye or eyes may be needed. Dilation of the eye prevents the pupil from constricting in order for the back of the eye to be examined with a clear view to identify if a retinal disease is present.

If my eyes are dilated, how can I see to drive?

We highly recommend a friend or relative be with you since eyes that are dilated are sensitive to bright light and vision will be blurred. The effects usually subside with in 3 to 4 hours.  Having a friend or relative as a driver is not only safe for you but for others as well.
